Tech Tips: Return to Campus

  • Your Desktop computer on campus should be operational as you may have been accessing it via SplashTop already.
  • If you were issued a laptop to work remotely, bring it to campus with you just in case you have issues with your computer or webcam.
  • Before returning to work on campus, remember to log out of SplashTop on your laptop if you are leaving it at home.
  • If you set up your Mitel “Soft Phone” on your laptop, you will need to log out of it on your laptop in order to use it in your work space on campus.
  • If you don’t have a webcam on your campus computer, bring your laptop to campus. You can also request a webcam (and headset) from your supervisor.
  • Bring back any monitors or other equipment you took home with you and contact your Help Desk in advance to get them set up.
  • If you need to use Zoom from your work space on campus, remember to test your webcam and sound beforehand.
  • Test your printer when you return to campus.
  • Clean your computer equipment with approved supplies only. Ask your supervisor for supplies.
    • Monitor screens and desktop computers, should be cleaned using an approved microfiber cloth. Do not use alcohol or ammonia-based cleaning fluid on your monitor screens.
    • Keyboards and mice should be cleaned with a compressed air can and a microfiber cloth.
